Cup Final Success for Bracknell

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Bracknell Town, who enjoyed a remarkable 2022/23 campaign, finished on a high by claiming the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup by beating Marlow 1-0 at Ascot United’s Racecourse Ground.

The Robins had great runs in both the Emirates FA Cup and the Isuzu FA Trophy as well as finishing as runners-up to Weston-super-Mare before losing the play-off final to Truro City.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes, Bracknell took only 2 minutes of the second half to break the deadlock when a Darryl Sanders effort took a deflection to beat Marlow `keeper Aaron Watkins.

Marlow, who also suffered play-off heartbreak, battled hard to find a leveller but found the Robins in determined mood.

And that Sanders goal in the end proved enough for Bracknell to claim the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup for the first time.
