Busy Willand Rovers See Five More Agree Terms for 2023/24

Busy Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Willand Rovers have confirmed that five more of their squad have committed for the 2023/24 season.

Nick Milton, Ashton Hewitt, Josh Baker, Kieran Bailey and Adam Kelly have become the latest to put pen-to-paper to remain at the Stan Robinson Stadium.

Milton, 31, is a defender or midfielder who signed for Rovers in January 2023 and his combative nature helped the club secure Step 4 status for a fifth season.

He had re-joined league rivals Bideford AFC in June 2020 from then-Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Plymouth Parkway.

He signed for Parkway in July 2017 having started out at Plymouth Argyle and also appeared for Torquay United.

Hewitt, 24, joined Rovers in July 2022 from former Southern Division One South rivals Barnstaple Town, where he had been since January 2022 after joining from another rival, Bideford.

He had only joined Biddy in December 2021 from then-South West Peninsula League Premier Division East side Elmore AFC.

He was previously with Western League First Division side Lebeq United.

His energy and commitment galvanised the Rovers engine room.

Baker is a 24-year-old forward who signed for Rovers in July 2022 from Western League Premier Division side Wellington, having scored 16 goals in 2021/22.

An ever willing runner up front, his work ethic is tremendous and his pace and tenacity will certainly worry defenders.

Bailey is a 29-year-old centre-back who joined Rovers in the summer of 2021 from Western League Premier Division side Shepton Mallet.

He played previously for Chard Town.

Adam Kelly has also commits to another season with Willand and his know-how and experience was vital last season.

The 35-year-old right or central midfielder signed for Rovers in July 2022 from league rivals Paulton Rovers, where he had been since the summer of 2021.

He had joined rivals Melksham Town in the summer of 2020 from Thatcham Town having signed for the Kingfishers in December 2018 from Mangotsfield United.

He was also previously with Tiverton Town, Weymouth, Bashley, Winchester City, Truro City, Taunton Town and Salisbury City.
