Shock as `Double` Winning Manager Quits

Berkhamsted, promoted as champions of the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, has, reluctantly, accepted the resignation of manager Chris Devane.

Devane joined Berkhamsted in June 2020, having previously managed at Step 5 level with Biggleswade United and Crawley Green.

The owners of the club have impressed upon the Board the need to run the club on a financially prudent basis and unfortunately, due to budgetary constraints, the club and Devane have taken the difficult decision to part company.

The club have thanked Devane and his backroom team for their tireless efforts on behalf of the Comrades, culminating in the league and cup `double` in 2022/23 - the most successful season in the club’s history.

The hard work and dedication of Devane and his team was exemplary in non-League football, and the club have wished Devane every success in his future endeavours both in football and personally.

The club would like to reassure supporters that discussions are already under way in relation to a new managerial appointment and announcements will be made in the forthcoming days.
