Five Agree New Bracknell Deals

Having lost the services of the likes of Dan Bayliss, Scott Rees, Mickel Platt and Garry Abisogun so far this close season, supporters of Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Bracknell Town were relieved with the news that five of last season’s successful squad had put pen-to-paper to stay with the Berkshire outfit.

Centre-back George Knight, Liam Tack, Sean Fraser, Ben Harris and Ashley Lodge have all agreed to remain at The SB Stadium.

Knight, 25, joined Bracknell in the summer of 2020 after returning from the USA where he had turned out for Lander Bearcats, Ocean City and Charlotte Eagles.

Tack arrived at Bracknell in November 2022 from Isthmian League South Central neighbours Binfield.

The 27-year-old had joined the Moles in the summer of 2021 from Southern Division One Central side Thame United, who he had re-joined from Hanwell Town in December 2019 having left in August 2019.

He had been with the Red Kites since January 2018 when joining from Egham Town, having previously been with Flackwell Heath and Amersham Town.

Fraser is an experienced 32-year-old defender who moved to the Robins in October 2022.

He originally joined Vanarama National League South side Slough Town in August 2012 and made the right-back position his own after a string of impressive performances, and helped Slough reach the First Round of the FA Cup.

His other previous clubs include Falkirk, Coventry City, Marlow and Banbury United.

He spent part of the 2018/19 season on loan with Beaconsfield Town and made 366 appearances for Slough before joining Southern Premier Division South neighbours Beaconsfield on a more permanent basis in the summer of 2022.

Harris is a 32-year-old forward who joined Bracknell from Slough in December 2022.

He had been with the Rebels since December 2017 after arriving from Isuzu FA Vase winners Ascot United.

He had been playing at Ascot to get his match fitness up after returning from playing in New Zealand for the previous two seasons, where he played for Team Wellington and Miramar Rangers in their top league, the New Zealand Football Championship.

Prior to that, he was a big part of the successful Hampton & Richmond Borough team under Alan Dowson.

Lodge, 33, is a midfielder who joined Bracknell in July 2022.

He had re-signed for the sadly now defunct then-Isthmian South Central side Staines Town in August 2019 and then switched to league rivals Chertsey Town in January 2020.

He spent several seasons with the Swans in a couple of spells, making over 150 appearances and picking up several player awards prior to his departure in December 2015.

Before joining Staines in 2012, he played for Molesey and Ashford Town (Middx) and after the Swans, turned out for Hayes & Yeading United, Egham Town and back at Molesey.
