Coup for Waders as Devane Joins Management Team

Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Biggleswade Town have announced that they have added Chris Devane to their management team for 2023/24.

It is quite a coup for the Waders as Devane led Berkhamsted to a stunning 2022/23 campaign, winning the Division One Central title by a 19-point margin and beating Southern Premier Division Central side Hitchin Town after a penalty shoot-out to claim the Herts Senior Cup

A statement from the Waders reads: “We are delighted to announce that new manager Danny Payne has added last year’s title-winning manager Chris Devane to his management team for the upcoming season. Chris joins the waders off the back of winning the title last season and is seen as a huge addition to the club.”

Devane joined Berkhamsted in June 2020, having previously managed at Step 5 level with Biggleswade United and Crawley Green.

He reluctantly decided to leave Berko last month due to budgetary constraints.
