Four More Pen Bideford Deals

Bideford AFC’s squad for the 2023/24 Pitching In Southern League Division One South campaign is really starting to take shape now as Javan Wright, Craig Duff, Gabriel Plant and Josh Coles have all committed for the season ahead.

Wright is a striker who signed for Bideford from former league rivals and neighbours Barnstaple Town in the summer of 2020.

The 24-year-old was originally on the books at Vanarama National League South outfit Torquay United.

Duff is a vastly experienced forward who returned to the Robins in July 2019 from Willand Rovers.

The 34-year-old started the 2018/19 season as player-manager of Buckland Athletic but was relieved of his duties after an FA Vase defeat to Newquay in September 2018.

From there he went to Willand, where he made 32 appearances and scored 10 goals as the club won the Toolstation Western League Premier Division.

He previously played for the Robins in 2013/14 and joined Truro City for 2014/15 where he spent two seasons before having spells at Tiverton Town and then Taunton Town.

He has also previously played for Weymouth, Falmouth Town, Bovey Tracey and Galampton Gents.

Plant is a young, 19-year-old midfielder or forward who signed for Bideford in the summer of 2022 from Western League Premier Division side Street.

Coles is another young, 20-year-old defender who moved to the Sports Ground in the summer of 2022.

He came up through South West Peninsula League side Oakhampton Argyle’s youth ranks.
