New Striker for Geordies

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Hanwell Town have snapped up striker Herson Alves from former league rivals Metropolitan Police.

The 26-year-old scored 19 goals for the Met in 2022/23 as they finished eighth in the division before voluntarily dropping down a league earlier this summer.

Portuguese-born, he joined the Met in November 2021.

He moved to Britain as teenager joining the Brentford academy from Benfica and worked his way up through the Bees ranks into the under-23 squad.

He spent time on loan at Hampton & Richmond Borough and Sutton United and then signed for Vanarama National League side Maidenhead United in the summer of 2018 following his release from Brentford.

In March 2020 he joined Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Arlesey Town and in October 2020 to Isthmian Premier outfit Cray Wanderers.

A month later he switched to league rivals Cheshunt and then returned to Arlesey in the summer of 2021.
