The 31-year-old is well-known to the Rams` management team from their time together at Vanarama National League South side Slough Town.
Dobson helped the Rebels gain promotion from the Southern Premier Division One South to the National League South in 2017/18.
He had re-joined Slough in June 2022 from league rivals Hemel Hempstead Town, where he had been since July 2021, and then returned to Southern Premier Division South outfit North Leigh two months later on dual registration.
He had joined Dagenham & Redbridge from National League rivals Sutton United in June 2019, having been with the U`s since January 2019 after arriving from Slough where he was leading scorer and claimed the `golden boot award in their promotion-winning campaign.
He originally joined Slough from North Leigh in March 2014, having previously been with Oxford United, Oxford City, Witney Town and Burnham and re-joined in the summer of 2016 after having spells with Harrow Borough and Aylesbury.
He re-joined North Leigh on loan in October 2022 after spending a month with Beaconsfield on a similar basis.
