Busy Mark Collier, manager of Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Melksham Town, has added two new players to his squad ahead of the 2023/23 campaign.

Defenders Nuno Felix and Jack Vallis have both agreed to move to the Oakfield Stadium.

Felix returns to Melksham for a third spell, having made 40 appearances for league rivals Paulton Rovers last season.

The 32-year-old had joined Rovers in August 2020 after a very brief spell with then-Vanarama National League South side Hungerford Town from May 2020.

He had originally moved to Rovers in September 2019 from Melksham.

He had earlier left Melksham for Southern Premier South side Salisbury in August 2019 before making a swift return to the latter.

The left back is a Portuguese national who was originally at the Benfica academy.

He joined Chippenham Town in the summer of 2016 and was a regular in the Bluebirds Southern League championship winning side.

He has also played for Taunton Town, Clevedon Town, Yate Town, Bridgwater Town, Banbury United, Paulton Rovers and Chippenham, originally joining Melksham in October 2018.

Vallis is a 29-year-old centre-back who has joined after recovering from injury.

He has previously played for Amesbury Town, Shrewton, Eastleigh, Salisbury, Shaftesbury, Frome Town, AFC Totton and Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

He is from Durrington and signed for the Gillingham Town at the start of the 2012/13 season after he was spotted playing for England Schools under-18s at Huish Park, Yeovil.

He won the awards for players’ and managers player of the year for the 2012/13 season.

Collier told his club’s website: “Jack is a dominant defender and has played at a very good level. I met Jack over the summer, he is in great shape following injury and can't wait to get started. He is physically strong, enjoys defending and will be a real threat in the opposition box”.
