Russell is a player that Westbury had been following closely over the last couple of seasons, so are delighted that the versatile midfielder, who has an eye for goal, has committed to play his football at Meadow Lane for the 2023/24 campaign.
Russell re-joined Welton Rovers in the summer of 2020 after a lengthy period out with injury, having enjoyed a spell with the club at the start of the 2018/19.
He made 10 starts for Rovers at the front half of the 2018/19 season, including a first-half hat-trick against Bishop Sutton in a 5-1 victory in January of 2019.
Unfortunately, in that same match Russell dislocated his shoulder, an injury which has had a long rehabilitation.
He had signed for Odd Down late in 2019/20 before Covid-19 curtailed football.
