Now Johnson Commits to St Ives

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club St Ives Town have announced the retention of another of last season’s squad.

Twenty-two-year-old Charlie Johnson played a key part in helping Ives stay in the league last season and the club are delighted to have reached an agreement for his return for the 2023/24 season.

Johnson originally signed for St Ives in August 2019.

He was released by League Two club Cambridge United in the summer of 2019 after spending several years coming through their youth system.

He also spent the last couple of months of the 2018/19 season on `work experience` with then-Southern Division One Central outfit Yaxley where he helped them to pull away from the bottom of the table and finish the season strongly.

And he re-joined Yaxley in early January 2020 before moving to St Neots Town in July 2021.

He switched to Isthmian North outfit Bury Town in June 2022 and then re-joined St Ives in October 2022.
