Bye previously made 293 appearances for the Robins and was part of the Southern Division One South title-winning team of 2011/12.
He spent a season with Tiverton Town in 2014/15 before returning to the Sports Ground and joined then-South West Peninsula League side Helston Athletic in 2018.
He was a key member of the Helston side that was promoted to the Toolstation Western League in 2021.
The 34-year-old began his career with his home-town club Exeter City where he spent three years.
He then joined Truro City for a year followed by a spell in Belgium with Royal Racing FC Montegnee.
He then returned to England to play for Tiverton for a year before re-joining the Robins.
