Experienced Forward Joins Bashley

Having lost the services of striker Jack Lovell last week, Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Bashley have brought in the experienced Brett Williams to bolster their attack for 2023/24.

The 35-year-old moves to the GlenMex Stadium from Southern Premier Division South side Gosport Borough.

Williams had moved to Boro in November 2022 from then-Southern Division One South neighbours AFC Totton.

He had joined the Stags in May 2020 from Vanarama National League South side Weymouth where he had been since June 2019 after arriving from then-National League side Sutton United.

He was signed by the U`s from National League South outfit Torquay United in December 2018, initially on loan before signing a permanent contract in January 2019, scoring 3 goals in 22 games.

However, he wasn`t retained by Sutton`s new boss Matt Gray.

He re-joined Torquay from Bromley in January 2017, having spent the 2016/17 season at Plainmoor.

Originally with Eastleigh and Reading, before joining Torquay, he made his name during a prolific period with Aldershot Town where he scored 39 goals in 89 league starts for the Shots before moves to Stevenage and Forest Green Rovers.
