Kidlington Appoint New Number Two

Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Kidlington have announced the arrival of Aidan Hawtin as assistant manager to Mark Massingham for 2023/24.

Hawtin worked his way through League One neighbours Oxford United’s academy, progressing to earn a scholarship and then on to make his professional debut for the U’s.

He is well known on the local non-League scene, having played for both Banbury United and Brackley Town as well as a spell in Norwegian football with Valdres FK.

He moved into the coaching side of the game after a number of injuries and has worked at Banbury as first team coach during their successful period over the last few seasons.

Hawtin has fantastic knowledge both as a player and a coach and has shown a great energy and desire to help build the club for the future and he will no doubt be a great assist to help Kidlington achieve their goals this season.

Hawtin told his club’s website: “I’ve grown up playing and have had friends who have played for Kidlington, so this fantastic club is no stranger to me.

“I’m really excited to be here and looking forward to getting stuck in to my new role and hit the ground running come pre-season, I’ve had some very encouraging conversations with the staff and potential players and it’s a club looking to build for the future and we can have a great season, bringing some success to Yarnton road against the targets we have set”.
