Kidlington Bring in New Keeper

Kidlington have snapped up goalkeeper Jack Hopwood from Pitching In Southern League Division One Central rivals Aylesbury United.

The 26-year-old was recently rewarded with the Ducks` supporters` player of the year award for 2022/23, having returned to the club in September 2022 from Isthmian League South Central side Thatcham Town.

He had been with the Kingfishers since November 2021 after arriving from Southern Premier Division South side Hayes & Yeading United.

He had joined United in October 2021 from Aylesbury, having originally joined the Ducks from near-neighbours Tring Athletic in February 2018.

After graduating through the Bucks Sports Academy, he played for Chesham United before going on to make nearly 150 appearances for Tring.

Hopwood told Kidlington’s website: "Joining Kidlington was a very easy decision. They are a club who have always impressed me with how they've gone about things and after speaking with the gaffer about his plans and targets for the new season it was a no brainer for me. I’m really excited to see what next season brings and building on the club's highest ever finish last season".
