Nine Commit to Citizens for 2023/24

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Winchester City have been busy re-signing several of last season’s squad for the 2023/24 campaign.

Forward Olly Balmer, 24, has agreed to remain a Citizen, having re-joined the club in March from Bashley.

He originally signed for City in the summer of 2019.

Defender Mark Jamison has also committed to City, having joined this time last year from Wimborne Town.

Midfielder Dan Neild signed for the Citizens in July 2022 from Vanarama National league South side Weymouth and he has put pen-to-paper for 2023/24.

Tricky winger IK Hill, who re-joined City in the summer of 2022 from Isthmian South Central side Westfield, is another to commit to the new campaign.

As is striker Simba Mlambo, who has been with the club since 2017.

Goalkeeper Charlie Philpott, 22, has also penned a new deal with City, having joined in August 2020 from Eastleigh’s academy.

Winchester’s longest-serving player, defender Danny King, has also committed to the club having first signed in 2006!

Striker Josh Bertie, 26, moved to the Citizens this time last year from Dorchester Town, and he has also penned a new deal, as has centre-back Dan Walster.

The 21-year-old former AFC Bournemouth and Aldershot Town youngster originally signed for City in October 2021.

And last, but not least, captain Jamie Barron has also put pen-to-paper for 2023/24.

The experienced 34-year-old re-joined the Citizens in the summer of 2017 from Gosport Borough.
