After starting last season with the Whites, he was dual-registered with AFC Stoneham in the Wessex League Premier Division.

A few weeks into Brian Dutton’s tenure as Salisbury manager, he contacted Penny as he was hoping to bring him back into the squad.

Unfortunately, an injury prevented it at that time, but he’s now fit and back at the Ray Mac for 2023/24.

The 23-year-old originally signed for Salisbury after a successful trial.

A former youth team player at the Ray Mac, he also had experience with Southampton and Swindon Town as a youngster.

He received a call up for England Schoolboys during the 2017/18 season and went on to play for Team Solent and then Chichester City before signing for home-town side AFC Stoneham in September 2020 as it was closer to Southampton University where he was attending at the time.

Dutton told his club’s website: “Ryan is a great lad that I know well as I’ve worked with him before. He’s still young but has the right attitude so he’ll fit in well here at Salisbury. I look forward to seeing him reach his potential which we’ll work to develop together”.
