Glass will be responsible for managing and developing the club’s operational programmes, community initiatives and footballing infrastructure and joins Wimborne following a successful period as a player liaison and hospitality host for Premier League AFC Bournemouth over the last few seasons.
Glass` footballing career spanned 1989-2004, where he was goalkeeper for AFC Bournemouth for three seasons with 95 appearances, before joining Swindon Town.
He shot into legendary football fame by scoring a last-minute goal which kept Carlisle United in the Football League in 1999, while on loan from Swindon Town.
Wimborne’s finance director Lee Merrifield told his club’s website: “Jimmy comes to Wimborne after a long association with AFC Bournemouth and we’re delighted to have someone of his standing onboard from both a football and business perspective.
“These are exciting times at Wimborne as we go from strength to strength on and off the pitch and start to implement our plans to move the club forward with the goal of National League South football in mind.
“The facilities and foundations for progression are already in place and we’re keen to build on last season’s record attendances by further strengthening our links with the local community and local businesses and Jimmy, alongside the Wimborne Board, will be at the forefront of driving this forward in his role as general manager.”
Glass added: “I’m incredibly excited to be working with Wimborne Town FC. I hope that I can add to what is already an impressive set up and help the club achieve its true potential”.
