Despite the weather, Friday saw a number of pre-season friendlies.

Premier Division South club Tiverton Town went down to a 4-2 defeat at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium to Vanarama National League South side Yeovil Town.

The Glovers, relegated from the National League, raced into a 4-0 half-time lead with a hat-trick from new signing Rhys Murphy in the 3rd, 13th and 40th minutes and one from another summer recruit, Frank Nouble, on 32 minutes.

However, the Yellows `won` the second half with goals from Jamie Richards on 56 minutes and Jack Rice-Lethaby 5 minutes from time.

Not far away, Division One South club Willand Rovers were beaten 2-0 at home by Yeovil’s new league rivals Taunton Town.

A triallist in the second half and a Ross Stearn effort in the first period with the Peacocks` goals.

Willand’s league rivals Larkhall Athletic won 2-0 at Toolstation Western League Division One side Warminster Town.

Another Division One South outfit, Bishops Cleeve, went down to a 2-0 Kayte Lane defeat to Premier Division South club Swindon Supermarine.

Levi Irving and a triallist with the `Marine goals.

Division One South newcomers Cribbs enjoyed a good 2-2 home draw with National League South side Chippenham Town.

A triallist gave the Bluebirds after 25 minutes but Aaron Ward-Baptiste levelled for the hosts in the 32nd minute.

Chippenham re-gained the lead 11 minutes after the break through Otis Lewis.

But Josh Bennett equalised for Cribbs in the final minute.

Premier Division South club Gosport Borough entertained League One neighbours Portsmouth at the AEI Stadium.

Pompey ran out 3-1 winners, although Boro produced a decent performance against a strong visiting squad.

In front of a crowd of 2,250, Rafael Ramos gave Gosport a 23rd minute lead.

Welsh international Joe Morell equalised a minute before half-time.

With a couple of minutes left on the clock, Pompey went 2-1 up through Destiny Ojo and then former Gosport loanee Harry Jewitt-White added a third in time added on.

A dominant performance from Gosport’s league rivals Hanwell Town saw them run out 7-0 winners against a side from League One Wycombe Wanderers.

Another Premier Division South outfit, Winchester City, won 5-0 at Wessex League side Christchurch.

Olly Balmer with two, Conor Lynch, Warren Bentley and an own goal with the Citizens goals.

League One side Burton Albion took the KC Trophy at the Don Amott Stadium against Premier Division Central neighbours Mickleover.

An 8th minute Charlie Lakin effort was all that separated the teams.

Mickleover’s league rivals Redditch United shared a 0-0 draw at the Trico Stadium with National League returnees Kidderminster Harriers.

Division One Central club Biggleswade FC went down to a 5-4 defeat at Thurlow Nunn League side Mildenhall Town.

Pemi Aderoju with a brace, Joe Worboys and Devonte Simms with the Greens` goals.
