Saturday's Pre-Season Friendly Round-Up

A look at the games involving clubs in the Pitching In Southern Football League.

Premier Division Central

Stourbridge shared a 1-1 draw at The Hand Stadium against Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Clevedon Town.

Luke Benbow, who has returned to the Glassboys, gave them a 32nd minute lead that the Seasiders levelled 2 minutes from time through Sam Beresford.

Coalville Town suffered a 3-1 defeat at Steel Park against Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side Corby Town.

Joe Doyle-Charles scored the Ravens` consolation.

Stamford AFC earned a good 2-1 win against League One Stevenage, managed by former Daniels` boss Steve Evans, at the Zeeco Stadium.

Ricky Miller gave the Daniels a 21st minute lead which Jake Forster-Caskey equalised just 4 minutes later.

The hosts restored their lead through Trey Charles with 15 minutes remaining.

Bromsgrove Sporting had a good 1-0 win against Vanarama National League North side Hereford at the Victoria Ground.

A fine strike by Conor Tee after 14 minutes proved to be the Rouslers` winner.

Halesowen Town sealed a 2-1 win at NPL Division One Midlands side Boldmere St Michaels.

Goals from Josh Eze and Miracle Okafor for the Yeltz.

Nuneaton Borough shared a 1-1 draw at Keys Park with NPL Division One West side Hednesford Town.

Connor Tomlinson scored Boro’s goal on 25 minutes.

Stratford Town edged out a squad from Championship side Coventry City 2-1 at the Arden Garages Stadium.

Dan Lafferty and then a fine effort from Riley O’Sullivan secured the Bards` win.

Needham Market edged out Isthmian League North side Felixstowe & Walton United 1-0 at Bloomfields.

Academy graduate James Letts with the only goal of the game.

Leamington won the Tony Horley Charity Cup by beating Midland League side Racing Club Warwick 3-0.

Tyrone Barnett after 25 minutes and then on 81 minutes from the spot and Ben Usher-Shipway on 54 minutes with the Brakes` goals.

St Ives Town beat NPL Division One Midlands side Harborough Town 3-1 at Westwood Road.

Enoch Andoh on 16 and 21 minutes and Greg Kaziboni just past the hour-mark with the Saints` goals.

Leiston beat Thurlow Nunn League side Ipswich Wanderers 4-1 at Humber Doucy Lane in Mark Goldfinch’s testimonial.

The former Leiston defender played over 800 games for Ipswich Wanderers, Leiston and Hadleigh United.

Leiston netted goals from a hat-trick from a triallist and also Spencer Keller.

Alvechurch enjoyed a good 1-0 win at allpay.park against Hellenic League Premier Division hosts Westfields.

Long Eaton United lost 1-0 at Grange Park to NPL Division One Midlands side Anstey Nomads.

Royston Town shared a 1-1 draw with Isthmian Premier Division side Wingate & Finchley.

AFC Telford United edged out Midland League side Worcester City 3-2.

Montel Gibson with two and Bryan Moore for the Bucks.

AFC Sudbury were beaten 1-0 at home by National League South side Braintree Town, for whom Nnamdi Nwachuku was on target.


Premier Division South

Hungerford Town enjoyed a good 3-2 win at Bulpit Lane against their former National League South rivals Chippenham Town.

Curtis Angell, Michael Fernandes and Toby Thorp with the Crusaders` goals.

AFC Totton welcomed National League side Aldershot Town to the Snows Stadium and were beaten 3-0.

Josh Stokes and a Zain Walker brace for the Shots.

Merthyr Town suffered their first defeat of pre-season after losing 4-0 at the Bill Solkeld Stadium against NPL Division One East side Carlton Town.

Dorchester Town shared a 1-1 draw at The Avenue Stadium with Division One South side Frome Town.

After Jon Davies had given the visitors an early 8th minute lead, Shaquille Gwengwe eventually equalised from the spot in the 90th minute.

Bracknell Town and National League North side Gloucester City shared a 2-2 draw at the Tiger Turf Stadium.

A triallist for Bracknell and then former Swindon Supermarine striker Harry Williams and Danny Wright made it 2-1 to the Tigers at half-time.

Massimo Giamattei equalised for the Robins 8 minutes from time.

Hendon won 4-0 at Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Arlesey Town.

Billy Leonard, Frank Keita, Dom Duval and Nick Muir scored for Lee Allinson’s side.

Plymouth Parkway secured a 3-0 win at Western League Premier Division side Falmouth Town.

An early 4th minute opener by Adam Carter, a triallist in the 39th minute and then Dylan Jones on 84 minutes with Parkway’s goals.

Newcomers Walton & Hersham beat Combined Counties League Premier Division South side Cobham 1-0 with a first half John Gilbert goal.

Basingstoke Town won 3-1 at Wessex League side Hythe & Dibden.

James Clark, Brad Wilson and Paul Hodges with the `Stoke efforts.

Harrow Borough won 2-0 at Creasey Park against Division One Central side AFC Dunstable.

A triallist on the half-hour mark and then Excellence Muhemba 4 minutes from time with the Harrow goals.

Didcot Town won the Larry Hill Memorial Trophy 4-0 against Combined Counties League Premier Division South hosts Wallingford & Crowmarsh.

Chesham Uniteed enjoyed a 7-1 hammering of Division One Central hosts Welwyn Garden City at The Pexhurst Stadium.

Two goals each for Jordan Edwards, Ricardo German and a triallist, plus a goal from Jordan Gibbons for the Generals.


Division One Central

Aylesbury United were beaten 2-0 at The Meadow by Isthmian League South Central side Marlow.

Bedford Town shared a 1-1 draw at The Eyrie with old rivals and now Premier Division Central side Kettering Town.

The Eagles equaliser came from a triallist 5 minutes from time after an own goal had given the Poppies a 52nd minute lead.

Thame United and Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Aylesbury Vale Dynamos shared ten goals at Haywood Way!

Ezra Forde, Harry Alexander, Alfie Anderson, Ollie Hogg and a triallist scored for the Red Kites.

Stotfold shared a 1-1 draw at Thurlow Nunn Leaguers Stanway Rovers.

Robbie Buchanan made it 1-1 in the 48th minute for the league newcomers.

Biggleswade Town won 2-1 at Spartan South Midlands League neighbours Baldock Town.

Marcus Goldbourne and a Jon Clements penalty for the Waders.

Newcomers Leighton Town were beaten 3-2 at Hayden Road by NPL Division One Midlands hosts AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Albie Hall on the hour-mark and a 73rd minute Josh Hatton effort were the Leighton scorers.

Kings Langley earned their first win of pre-season with a 3-2 success at Spartan South Midlands hosts Tring Athletic.

Kieran Patterson scored Kings` first goal of pre-season after 6 minutes.

16' GOAL! Cheyce Grant doubled their lead 10 minutes later with a nice finish and then Tecane Shrowder made it 3-2 in the 84th minute.

North Leigh were beaten by the odd goal in five at Hellenic League Premier Division side Milton United.

Cirencester Town beat Division One South side Bishops Cleeve 3-0 at the Corinium Stadium to take the Severn Sport Shield.

An Aiden Bennett brace and Luca Robinson with the Centurians` goals.

Ware lost 3-2 at Essex Senior Leaguers Saffron Walden Town.


Division One South

Hamworthy United were beaten 2-0 at Wessex League side Portland United.

Wimborne Town and Premier Division South side Salisbury shared a 1-1 draw at New Cuthbury.

The visitors opened the scoring after just 3 minutes through Dan Fitchett.

He Magpies eventually pulled level in the 89th minute through Sam Jackson.

Melksham Town had a good 2-0 home win against Isuzu FA Vase holders and now Isthmian League South Central side Ascot United.

Ralph Graham scored both of the Melksham goals within 2 minutes of the start of the second half.

Bideford AFC were on the wrong end of a 3-1 defeat by JD Cymru Premier side Pontypridd United at the Sports Ground.

Evesham United beat United Counties League Premier Division South visitors Easington Sports 2-0.

Second half goals from Levi Steele and Will Owens for the Robins.

Tavistock AFC secured a 3-0 win at Blaize Park against Western League Premier Division St Blazey.

Mousehole AFC gave a good account of themselves before going down to a 2-1 defeat at Trungle Parc to National League side Dorking Wanderers.
