The 26-year-old started his career at AFC Totton at the age of 19, playing for the reserves for just short of a year, before making the first team.
The following season he was involved more regularly with the first team, making many appearances.
A long-term injury cut the centre-back’s next season short, but upon his return to fitness he spent a couple of months with Wessex Leaguers Hamble FC.
The season of 2018/19 he left AFC Totton to join Winchester City, where he impressed in pre-season and fixed his place in the starting line-up.
After six months he was approached by Gosport Borough, and agreed to sign halfway through the year, and played an important part of Boro’s survival in 2018/19.
He moved to league rivals Salisbury in June 2020.
Sills told his club’s website: “Signing Sam is another real statement of intent as he brings a wealth of higher league experience. Despite offers from higher league clubs he joins us excited to be part of what we and the club are building”.
