Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club AFC Sudbury have announced the arrival of Dan Cousens and Charlie Lewis.

Dan Cousens

Nineteen-year-old Cousens joins the league newcomers from Championship side Ipswich Town’s academy, where he progressed through the ranks to be a regular in the under-18s and then the under-21s.

Sudbury boss Marc Abbott told his club’s website: "He's a young, athletic, hungry player that has made a real impression during pre-season. He has a very hardworking attitude towards his football and no matter if it's training or a match scenario he gives us 100%. He's a good learner and he's keen to transition into Men's football from the Academy environment he's been used to.

“Like others we have recruited, Dan shows flexibility in the positions he can occupy."

Lewis is a 25-year-old right-sided player, who is comfortable both at right-back or in the centre.

He first joined Histon at the start of the 2019/20 season before moving to the United States on a scholarship with Palm Beach Atlantic University.

He returned to the Stutes in the summer of 2020 and then switched to St Neots Town in July 2022.
