Nelson Returns to Cirencester - 23 Years After Leaving!

Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Cirencester Town have announced the signing of vastly experienced goalkeeper Stuart Nelson.

Nelson is actually returning to the Centurians as he started out at the Corinium Stadium before being signed by Millwall in October 2000.

Now 41, he joins Cirencester from Vanarama National League South side Dover Athletic, where he had been since June 2022.

He joined the Whites from Sutton United, who he moved to in January 2022 from Dorking Wanderers.

He had arrived at Dorking in October 2021 from Crawley Town, having signed for the Reds in the summer of 2021 from Yeovil Town, where he had been since February 2018 following his release from Gillingham.

Leaving Priestfield after an almost six-year stay, he has over 500 EFL appearances to his name, and has also enjoyed spells with Brentford, Leyton Orient, Norwich City and Notts County, as well as a stint north of the border with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League.
