The 19-year-old impressed last season playing for Combined Counties League Premier Division North side Burnham and has been on trial with the Rams since the start of pre-season.
Van Aurich made 29 appearances for the Blues last season, scoring 4 goals.
Manager Jon Underwood told his club's website: "Ben is a player who was recommended to me in the summer and has performed well in training and in the friendly matches. He is a naturally left-footed defender and can play a number of different positions, depending on our formation, and we're looking forward to seeing him develop further with us".
