Attacking Midfielder Bolsters Redditch's Squad

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Redditch United have brought in attacking midfielder AJ George ahead of the big kick-off.

The 26-year-old ended the 2022/23 season with North Leigh, who he joined in Match 2023 from Tamworth.

He had moved to The Lambs in the summer of 2022 from AFC Rushden & Diamonds, where he had been since late October 2021 after arriving from Oxford City.

He started his career with Oxford United, where he made 2 appearances in a season that ultimately earned promotion to League One.

During his time with the U’s, he had a loan spell with Banbury United before moving to Mansfield Town permanently.

He had further spells on loan at Mickleover Sports, Hednesford Town and North Ferriby United, before moving to Chippenham Town on a more permanent basis in February 2019, switching to Oxford City in December 2019.

He is also an Antigua & Barbuda under-20 and full international, having made two full appearances for his country, scoring the winner on his debut, in a 2-1 win over Aruba.

Redditch boss Matt Clarke told his club’s website: "I've been a long-time admirer of AJ. He brings quality to the group but also very good experience. AJ has an excellent pedigree having played higher and played in teams that compete at the top end of the table, which is key to helping improve us".
