Trio Completes Citizens Squad

Welwyn Garden City have added three players to complete their squad before Saturday’s big kick-off in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central at home to Biggleswade FC.

Two will contest the vacant left-back spot, where the Citizens have lost three players, for varying reasons, during the summer months.

Coming in are former Hertford Town full-back Josh Bryant, 21, who is dual registered with Isthmian League Premier Division side Cheshunt.

Bryant spent three seasons at Hertingfordbury Park and made around 80 appearances for the county town club.

The 24-year-old had spells with Stotfold and Potton United before joining Hertford.

Competition for the place will come from teenager Aaron Okpolakpo.

Just 17, the young defender has already seen service with VCD Athletic, now of the Southern Counties East League, having begun his senior career with Southern Premier Central newcomers AFC Sudbury.

City’s third capture is 20-yer-old goalkeeper Donnabhan Green.

A produce of Vanarama National League outfit Boreham Wood’s PASE academy, he spent last season as first choice with Edgware & Kingsbury of the Combined Counties League.
