Okpolokpo Makes AFC Sudbury Switch

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club AFC Sudbury have signed Josh Okpolokpo.

The 20-year-old defender joins Sudbury from new league rivals Leiston.

He had signed for the Blues in September 2022 and also had a loan spell with Gorleston in 2022/23.

He was released by Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2022, having represented the club’s under-17 and under-19 sides.

Standing 6`4”, he can play at centre-back or right back, and joined the Terriers` academy from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2019, having started his career in the Republic of Ireland with Cherry Orchard.

He was named in a 35-man training camp for Eire’s under-19s, having signed a one-year professional contract with Town in July 2021.

In August 2021, he spent a month on loan with Pontefract Collieries, making 5 appearances.
