Four Strengthen Squads

Four clubs in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central have strengthened their squads in recent days.

Thame United have added midfielder Tom Payne to their squad.

The 22-year-old had signed for North Leigh in January 2022 from Hayes & Yeading United.

He had moved to Hayes & Yeading in late October 2021 from Biggleswade Town where he had been since the summer of 2021 after arriving from Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Harefield United.

Waltham Abbey have brought in Ayobami Tanimowo, who possesses quite a pedigree.

The 21-year-old signed for Brighton & Hove Albion from Norwich City in 2018 and spent his first two years at the Amex in the under-18s.

He progressing to the under-23s in the summer of 2020, making 19 appearances in the 2020/21 campaign.

He left the south coast club in the summer of 2022 and went on trial Cheltenham Town. But he suffered a dislocated shoulder in a friendly against Birmingham City that laid him low for the latter part of the summer.

In December 2022 he trialled with Sheffield Wednesday.

Oliver Turner has joined Hertford Town from Vanarama National League side Aldershot Town.

The 19-year-old central midfielder joined the Shots in the summer of 2022 after being released by Tottenham Hotspur.

Another young midfielder, Edwin Daffern, has joined Hertford’s league rivals Kempston Rovers on `work experience` from League Two side MK Dons.
