Experienced Midfielder Signs for Rovers

Vastly experienced midfielder Matty Harriott has signed for Pitching In Southern League Division One Centra club Barton Rovers.

The 30-year-old’s last club was Beaconsfield Town, where he spent a good deal of the 2021/22 season on loan.

He had re-joined Bedford Town in early November 2019 having been with Hendon, making 20 appearances for the Greens after leaving the New Eyrie in October 2018.

After coming through the youth ranks of Luton Town, he made a move to Sheffield United in August 2010.

Progressing quickly with the Blades, he made his first team debut in early January 2011.

Having made only one further appearance for the Yorkshire club he joined Burton Albion on a one-month loan deal in March 2012 and made 4 appearances before returning to Bramall Lane after his loan spell was cut short following a change in management at the Brewers.

The following season he joined Alfreton Town on a month`s loan in November 2012, which was later was extended until January 2013, and again to the maximum 93 days allowed.

Having made 13 appearances for Alfreton, he returned to United but after failing to break into the first team, left in June 2013 after they failed to offer him a new contract and signed a one-year deal with Northampton Town.

In November 2013, he joined Hayes & Yeading United on loan until December 2013, making the move more permanent in the summer of 2014.

A move to Wealdstone followed in October 2015 and he then spent a couple of years in the United States with Wilmington Hammerheads before signing for Bedford the first time in July 2018.
