Stratford Town midfielder, Lewis Ison, is gearing himself up for a busy Bank Holiday weekend.
The 25 year-old has been a regular so far this term despite suffering a combination of rib and ankle injuries during pre-season.
“I’ve not been 100% since early on in pre-season,” he admitted. “But it’s a mentality thing with me; I don’t lie down and I don’t want to miss games.
“There is something inside me that just clicks when the whistle goes and the adrenalin gets me through, I suffer the next day though!
“I’m getting back to full fitness; two games in as many days will be a challenge over the Bank Holiday weekend, but I’ll just have an ice bath on Sunday and be ready to go again.
“We’ve got a tight-knit group this season and we’re enjoying it.”
The Bards, who have won their two home games and lost their two away games so far, play host to Leiston on Saturday before making the short trip to Leamington on Monday.
