Déjà vu For Mousehole And Bashley

League rivals do battle again, this time in the Emirates FA Cup

For the second Saturday in a row, Mousehole will take on Bashley as the two Pitching In Southern League Division One South teams do battle in the first round qualifying of the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.

They shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw last weekend as Mousehole extended their unbeaten start to life at this level to four games, with two wins and two draws so far. Bashley meanwhile have one win, one defeat and two draws to their name so another closely-fought contest is in prospect down in Cornwall.

“I really enjoyed our game against them last weekend despite the set-back of conceding so late,” admitted Mousehole manager, Jake Ash. “It was a proper game; two decent sides trying to play in an expansive manner.

“There is no doubt that Bashley are the best team that we have faced so far this season and as such it will be a tough test for us on Saturday as we turn our attention to making FA Cup progress.

“Hopefully we can see this one out and take our place in Monday’s draw for the next round.”

Mousehole have beaten Ilfracombe Town (4-1) and St. Blazey (5-1) to reach this stage of the competition, whilst Bashley narrowly overcome the challenge of Fareham Town (3-2) in the last round.
