One of the most intriguing Emirates FA Cup first round qualifying ties of the weekend sees two fancied Pitching In Southern League Premier Central sides do battle as Coalville Town go to AFC Telford United.
It’s been an indifferent start for Coalville, who once more made the play-offs at the end of last term, with three wins and three defeats so far, although they did get the bragging rights in their local derby with Barwell on Monday by winning 3-1.
For AFC Telford, their return to this level following relegation at the end of last season has seen them win two, draw two and lose two of their six League outings.
“We go there with no pressure,” insisted Ravens’ boss, Adam Stevens. “AFC Telford are the biggest club in our League; we’ll be the underdogs for this one, but we’ll go into the game with no fear and on the back of a good win in our last outing.
“We’re looking forward to it; it’s the FA Cup at a nice ground and on a nice pitch. I pride my teams on how hard they work and we’ll go there and give it everything.”
