There was delight for Hitchin Town’s Daniel Idiakhoa as his first game in the Emirates FA Cup ended with him bagging the winning goal against Welwyn Garden City in a 2-1 victory.
“I had a few chances in the first half, which I didn’t take, but I knew that more opportunities would come my way if we kept playing the way we did,” admitted the box-to-box midfielder to Freddie Cardy. “It was great to score the winning goal in my first FA Cup game; I timed my run well and was happy with the finish, as you could see from my celebration!
“We had to be resilient and keep going in order to get our reward, but we’re delighted to make it through to the next round.
“We’re creating plenty of chances at the moment and we know that we have to be able to capitalise on them.”
