Underwood Relieved As Beaconsfield Town Draw

Rams come back from two goals down to earn Emirates FA Cup replay

Beaconsfield Town had to come from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw from their Emirates FA Cup visit to Southall.

The Rams, who are yet to win in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South this term, started the tie well but couldn’t maintain their bright start, as manager, Jon Underwood, explained.

“Relieved is my overriding emotion after that game,” he said. “We started really well and created a couple of chances within the opening ten minutes by playing some good football to open up our opponents.

“But we got sloppy and conceded two really poor goals to give us a mountain to climb. We really have to show more because we make life so much harder for ourselves with the goals that we concede.

“We threw attacking players on and went for it and thankfully we were able to pull it back and force a replay but we’re a long way off where we need to be.

“My job is to make us better and find another level or two.”

The replay will take place at Holloways Park on Tuesday evening.
