Emirates FA Cup Second Round Qualifying Draw

A look at who the Pitching In Southern League sides will be up against

The draw for the second round qualifying of the Emirates FA Cup was made on Monday lunchtime.

With clubs from the Vanarama National Leagues North and South entering the competition at this stage, things are starting to hot up.

Here’s who our clubs from the Pitching In Southern League will find themselves up against, with ties taking place on the weekend of September 16th/17th.

Having come through a tough away tie at AFC Telford United with a 1-0 victory at the weekend, Coalville Town have been handed a home tie against Stafford Rangers.

After their convincing win in the previous round, AFC Totton go to Gloucester City of the Vanarama National League, whilst Alvechurch, who had a good run in the competition last season, go to fellow Premier Central side, Halesowen Town.

There’s another all Premier Central clash at Barwell as they host Bromsgrove Sporting.

Meanwhile Barton Rovers will be at home again as they host either Concord Rangers or Wroxham.

After a 5-4 thriller on Saturday, Berkhamsted go to Eastbourne United, whilst Biggelswade Town have a tricky trip to Vanarama National League North Bishops Stortford to look forward to.

Bristol Manor Farm await the outcome of Didcot Town’s tie with AFC Portchester in what will be another away tie for the Division One South club.

It’s another road trip for Needham Market who go to Hashtag United after winning away at FC Romania on Saturday. Two Southern League sides meet at Plymouth Parkway as they entertain Frome Town as Bracknell Town welcome Havant & Waterlooville.

There is another home tie for Hayes & Yeading United as they welcome Slough Town to the SKYex Community Stadium. Hitching Town host Premier Central rivals, AFC Sudbury, and Kettering Town will welcome the winners of the Sporting Khalsa v Darlaston Town replay.

Hungerford Town hit the road to Chippenham Town whilst Larkhall Athletic have a home tie against Bath City of the Vanarama National League South to look forward to following their commanding victory over Moneyfields in the last round.

It’s an away tie for Leamington as they go to Boston United as Leiston host St. Albans City. Having won away in the previous round, Stourbridge, who know a thing or two about FA Cup runs, will be on home turf this time as they face either Gainsborough Trinity or Matlock Town.

Rampant Merthyr Town host Taunton Town and the similarly in-form Mickleover are at home to Spalding United.

Down in Cornwall, Mousehouse face an intriguing home tie with Salisbury of the Premier South for their first ever appearance at this stage of the competition.

With Matt Tubbs now at the helm, Poole Town go to Horndean whilst Redditch United’s reward for a 5-0 success over Boldmere St. Michaels in the last round is an away trip to Vanarama National League North outfit, Peterborough Sports.

After narrowly edging through against Cheshunt, Royston Town will be at home against as they take on Hemel Hempstead Town. Giant-killers from the previous round, Cribbs, have another tough away assignment at Gosport Borough.

Division One South high-flyers, Wimborne Town, will be relishing their home tie with former Football League club, Torquay United, now of the Vanarama National League South. Another team who have started the season in solid fashion is Chesham United and they will go to either Flackwell Heath or Farnham Town.

Ware will be at home to Chelmsford City in what is sure to be another great occasion and Winchester City’s prize for beating Evesham United 3-2 on Saturday is a trip to Reading City.

Having romped to an 8-0 victory over Maldon & Tiptree on Sunday, Biggleswade FC will be at home again, this time against Cambridge City.

Meanwhile Bedford Town will host Gorleston, but only if they can overcome Walthamstow in their replay first, whilst Hadley have the prospect of a mouth-watering home tie against Maidstone United if they can beat Steyning Town Community.

Finally, Beaconsfield Town will host Hampton & Richmond Borough if they can secure victory in their replay against Southall.
