New Poole Town manager, Matt Tubbs, has had his first training session with his new charges as he prepares for Saturday’s first game at the helm as they travel to Hayes & Yeading United.
“I am really excited by the challenge that stands before me here,” he said. “What Tommy [Killick] did at this club for so long was nothing short of remarkable and there will be a natural transition period, we know that.
“I quite like the fact that the pressure is on because it keeps me on my toes. I’ve got huge shoes to fill, but we’ll deal with the cards we’re dealt and work as hard as we can.
“I know a lot of the players already. It’s good to see the spirt that exists here and they all want to work hard, which is all I ask.”
Tubbs helped Bashley secure their Pitching In Southern League Division One South place as player-coach before guiding them to the brink of the play-offs in his first season as manager last term.
