All Smiles At Kidlington

Back-to-back wins and a first clean sheet

There were smiles at Kidlington on Saturday as they registered back-to-back wins for the first time this season and also kept a first clean sheet in their 2-0 Isuzu FA Trophy victory over North Leigh.

The Greens went into the tie against their Pitching In Southern League Division One Central rivals with just one League win to their name this term but ran out worthy winners.

“It was a very hot day but the lads did extremely well,” said manager, Mark Massingham. “We had a great shape about us and our opponents simply couldn’t break through.

“We soaked up the pressure and then grabbed two quick-fire goals which, at any level, is not easy to do, but we have the players here that are capable of doing it.

“I felt that we controlled the second half and limited what is a very good side to very few chances.

“The lads put in a real shift in such hot temperatures, so full credit to them for that.”

Massingham will be hoping that they can now take this form into the League when they host high-flying Kings Langley on Saturday.
