Measure for measure, Stratford Town are starting to make an impact in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.
The Bards secured successive 4-2 victories on Saturday and Tuesday as they followed up their home triumph over AFC Sudbury with an excellent away win at Stamford.
Amongst the goals on Tuesday evening was a sweet strike from distance by Alex Worley that saw them regain the lead on the stroke of half-time.
“It’s something I’ve done in training a few times and now thankfully it has come off in a game,” Worley told Stuart Morse as he described his goal. “It was a nice feeling to see it hit the back of the net, especially coming just before the break.
“That’s six points and eight goals from our last two games. On both occasions we played the conditions really well; on Saturday it was the heat and then in contrast on Tuesday it was the wind and driving rain.
“We’re battling well at the moment and the competition for places is keeping everyone on their toes. I feel sorry for the Gaffer in having to decide who to pick and who to leave out!”
