The experienced Shane White wasted little time in making his mark at Plymouth Parkway. Just a day after joining the Pitching In Southern League Premier South club, he scored a goal and put in a Man of the Match display as they draw 2-2 with Frome Town in the Emirates FA Cup second round qualifying.
The 32 year-old has joined his hometown club having made 250 appearances for Truro City and can’t wait to pass on his experience and know-how to what is a youthful Parkway squad.
“There are a lot of young lads here who are full of energy,” he told Mike Parrish. “To put them alongside some experienced heads such as myself is the perfect mixture.
“I want to be able to put my stamp on things here and get the club moving up the table.
“It’s not been the best of starts to the season, there is no getting away from that, but it’s a new team and once we start to gel together, we’ll shoot up the table.
“I’ve watched this club progress over the years and it was only a matter of time before I joined them. Now was the right time to make that move.
“The club has made great strides and it’s only going one way. I’ll bring a winning mentality as well as plenty of experience at this level.”
The Devon club head to Frome Town of the Pitching In Southern League Division One South this evening for their Emirates FA Cup replay with an away trip to either Cray Wanderers or Ramsgate awaiting the winners.
