Good feeling for Collicutt

There are some encouraging signs for Bishops Cleeve as they start to find consistency in their performances.

Manager, Paul Collicutt, admitted that last season was ‘mediocre’ for his team, but this time around he can see some definite reasons to be optimistic.

They sit sixth in the early Pitching In Southern League Division One South table with three wins from five League games and are currently on a three-game winning run having beaten Bristol Manor Farm and Paulton Rovers in the Isuzu FA Trophy with a League triumph at Bemerton Heath Harlequins sandwiched in between.

“The lads are playing with smiles on their faces,” said the experienced Collicutt. “We’re seeing some consistency in our performance levels and whilst there are still a number of areas in which we can improve, we’re playing some exciting stuff.

“Things are definitely moving in the right direction. There were good performances all over the pitch on Saturday as we progressed in the FA Trophy and also some quality goals and I have a good feeling about where things can go this season if we continue to work hard.”

There’s a local derby at Kayte Lane on Tuesday evening as they take on Yate Town before returning to home action on Saturday with the visit of Exmouth Town.
