There was plenty of action in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central where leaders, Bedford Town came home from Welwyn Garden City with a 3-1 victory.
Lynton Goss and Ben Spaul put them in the driving season with first half goals before Bradley Watkins pulled a goal back on 77 minutes. The points were sealed when Louis Walsh netted a third with just under quarter-of-an-hour to go. It’s now six League wins in a row for Bedford.
Kings Langley remain hot on their heels as they too remain unbeaten following a 1-0 triumph over Hertford Town where Louie Collier bagged the winner with ten minutes to go.
Now up to third place are Cirencester Town after their 2-1 success over Aylesbury United. Harry Buns broke the deadlock just after the hour and then Aidan Bennett doubled the advantage in stoppage time. There was still time for Hayden Beadle to pull a goal back but it proved too little, too late.
Also continuing to climb up the table are Waltham Abbey who came home from Bigglswade with a single goal victory thanks to Elliott Sartorius’ (pictured) strike on the stroke of half-time.
Ware were left to celebrate a successful road trip as they chalked up a 4-0 triumph at Leighton Town. Liam Dulson helped himself to a hat-trick as Stefanos Georgiou weighed in with the other goal.
At the bottom, Kempston Rovers suffered late heartbreak at the hands of North Leigh, for whom Leon Morrison got a last minute winner after Owen Dore put them in front and Samuel Ezenwaka equalised.
The defeat sees them return to the bottom following Hadley’s 1-0 success against AFC Duntable as Luke Alfano hit the only goal of the game to give his side their first home win of the campaign.
The day’s other action saw Henry Snee hit the winner for Stotfold against Kidlington.
