Volunteers are the lifeblood of our game, particularly in non-League football, and we will be shining the light on these fantastic people who work tirelessly on behalf of their club within the Pitching In Southern Leagues.
First up it’s Tom Hanlon, who volunteers as Kit Man at Premier Central outfit, Royston Town, a position that he has held for fast-approaching ten years.
“I started volunteering as Kit Man back in 2014,” he told us. “Since then I’ve also helped out in the media department; I’ve done tweets for a few Royston Town games as well as filming games behind the goal.
“Just this season I’ve started doing weekend previews as well as some other volunteer jobs around the club. I also help out with the other senior teams as well.
“Getting to volunteer at my local football club is such an amazing feeling and so rewarding. I certainly recommend other supporters in The Southern League to get out there and find a volunteering role at their local club.”
