Having notched his first goal for the club at the weekend with the opener from the penalty spot in North Leigh’s 2-1 Pitching In Southern League Division One Central victory at Kempston Rovers, Owen Dore is hoping that his goals will be like buses and another will follow straight after.
The former Southampton and Oxford United Academy product is back in action on Wednesday evening as The Millers head to Biggleswade.
“I was absolutely buzzing to get my first goal,” he said. “It’s been a long time coming; the last few weeks my name has been on the board for penalties, it’s just been a case of waiting for the chance to come along.
“It finally happened on Saturday and I made sure that I didn’t miss!
“The main thing was that we secured a good three points in the end and now we are looking to add to it in Wednesday’s game, which will be another tough one for us.
“If I can get another goal, great, sometimes it happens like that, but the most important thing is that we are able to add to our points’ tally and strengthen our position amongst the leading pack.”
North Leigh have four wins to their name from six League games and go into Wednesday’ game sitting in fifth place in the table.
