Welwyn Garden City manager, Marc Weatherstone, has heaped praise on front-man, Bradley Wadkins after his fourth League goal of the season gave his side a second Pitching In Southern League Division One Central win of the season courtesy of a 1-0 triumph at Thame United.
“Brad is such a humble, hard-working player who deserves the goals he is getting,” he said. “Week in, week out he runs through bricks walls for the team and it was only a matter of time before his goals started getting us three points.
“Saturday’s game certainly wasn’t pretty, but you can’t beat a 1-0 away win. When you’re going through a tough patch, you’ll take any victory that comes your way.
“Credit to the lads for getting the job done and, importantly, keeping a clean sheet. We must make sure we can build on this now and take the positives into our next game.”
That next game sees The Citizens play host to Hertford Town on Saturday as they look to secure their first home League win of the season.
