Football is littered with great double acts and there is one such that is being rekindled at AFC Telford United right now.
The Pitching In Southern League Premier Central club have recently signed experienced front-man, Reece Styche, to play alongside his former Stourbridge team-mate, Montel Gibson and the partnership is already bearing fruit.
On Tuesday evening, Gibson laid on three assists as Styche bagged a hat-trick in the 3-1 victory at Kettering Town.
“The pair did well when they played together previously and were eager to link-up again,” said the Bucks’ manage, Kevin Wilkin to his club’s media. “They understand each other’s games and work well together as a partnership.
“They both have that physical side of their game and I was delighted to see Reece get a hat-trick on Tuesday; they were all good goals but equally Montel contributed with three assists.
“It doesn’t matter who’s scoring them as long as we’re getting goals and winning matches. We did well on Tuesday evening, but we’re not getting too carried away. There is still lots of work to be done, but at least we are moving in the right direction.
“It’s still early days, but we are growing as a group.”
AFC Telford are at home on Saturday as they play host to Long Eaton United.
