Welwyn Garden City manager, Marc Weatherstone, was feeling bright after seeing his side breeze to a 2-1 victory at high-flying North Leigh on Saturday.
It was their third victory of the season as Bradley Wadkins popped up with a late winner against hosts who are second in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central table.
“To a man, my players were fantastic,” Weathers told his club’s media. “I asked them to do a job and they delivered.
“It’s a result that has been coming for a while, to be honest. We were good value for the three points and even had two goals disallowed along the way.
“The conditions were not great but the lads dug-in and it’s the first time I’ve seen us look like a team.
“Hopefully we can now kick-on from here. We want to keep climbing and get on a run together but we know that we have to get our home form right.”
The Citizens are yet to taste victory on home soil with all three of their wins coming on their travels. This weekend they host a Kempston Rovers side that sit three points behind them with a game in hand.
