There was plenty of late drama as Plymouth Parkway picked up their first away win of the season in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South on Saturday.
Having got themselves in front courtesy of Shane White’s penalty just past the quarter-hour mark, they held the lead until the very last minute when hosts, Walton & Hersham, levelled matters only for Dylan Jones to pop up in stoppage time to win it for the Devon outfit.
“I am so delighted for the boys,” assistant manager, Karl Curtis told Parkway TV. “We’ve played well at some tough places recently without getting the results that we deserved.
“On Saturday our game plan was spot-on and the boys executed it to a tee. The character to come back from conceding so late and still have the belief to go on and win the game was brilliant.
“Now we have finally got that elusive away win, we can hopefully take the belief gained from it and go on a positive run of results.
“With two home games coming up, we have to transfer this into our home form so that we can build on it and start moving up the table.”
The victory was Plymouth Parkway’s third from 14 League games so far this term to move them up to fourth from bottom. They face successive home League games, starting against Didcot Town on Saturday before following it up by taking on Bracknell Town.
