These are exciting times for Wimborne Town. Not only are they sitting pretty at the top of the Pitching In Southern League Division One South table, but attendances are up and the whole infrastructure of the club is being geared towards future progression.
“There are a great bunch of people behind the club who are working hard to turn this into something special and really move things forward,” said Board member, Martin Higgins, who has been involved with the club for the past two years. “We are looking to improve all aspects of the club; it’s so important to get the foundations right.
“The Academy that we have in place is incredible and hopefully there will be plenty of young talent coming through the ranks here in the years to come.
“We brought in a General Manager [Jimmy Glass] to oversee everything we do on a daily basis, it’s important to have that if we want to progress, not only on the pitch but behind-the-scenes too.
“We’re on a journey and it’s still very much early days, but we will get there. We have to get all aspects of the club working correctly to be able to give the team the best opportunity to thrive.
“Our aspirations are high but at the same time we know that we have to put the foundations in place to be able to get to where we want to be in the years ahead.”
With just two defeats from their opening 12 League games, the Magpies head to Cribbs on Saturday.
