BROMSGROVE SPORTING | TIME FOR TEE

Turning on the style

Conor Tee doesn’t do tap-ins. The highly-rated 23 year-old has scored some pretty special goals for Bromsgrove Sporting this season as a beacon of light amidst some off-the-field upheavals.

“I would say I’ve had a strong start to the season,” the Leicester City youth team product told us. “Scoring eight goals and assisting in seven is a good record so far, so I’ve been happy with my contribution and performances.

“As a team we are still building; we’re just below halfway in the table at the moment, but we’ll come good as the season goes on, I am sure of that.”

So, which of those eight goals is his current favourite?

“That would have to be my goal against Halesowen Town. We were looking for our first home win of the season at the time, it was in front of a big crowd and it was just the perfect game to do it in.

“I hit it from about 30 yards and the ball dipped in off the crossbar. It was a great feeling to see it go in, and the fact that it put us 2-1 up having been a goal down was extra special. We went on to win the game, so that topped it off nicely.”

Having previously turned out for AFC Rushden & Diamonds at this level, Tee knows exactly how competitive the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central is.

“It’s a demanding League, there is no doubt about that,” he added. “The games come around thick and fast, which I enjoy, but every single one presents a different challenge, there are no easy games, everyone is capable of taking points off each other, from top to bottom.

“As a group we’ve remained focussed on our task; we can’t control anything that happens off the pitch, all we can do is prepare right each week so that we go into each game ready to perform and give a good account of ourselves.

“From a personal point of view, I want to stay consistent with my performance levels and continue making a contribution with goals and assists to help this team climb the table and start making our mark in the top half.”

The Rouslers host Alvechurch on Tuesday evening before heading to high-flying Needham Market on Saturday.
