Successive victories in their last two games means that Thame United have managed to double their points tally for the season over the past week and a half.
They followed up a 1-0 triumph over Biggleswade Town with a 2-1 victory over Stotfold on Tuesday evening thanks to a brace from Jayden Carbon.
It moves them to third from bottom in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central with manager, Ben Williams, delighted with the application of his side.
“The lads have been fantastic over the past couple of games,” Williams told his club’s media. “The most pleasing part is the fighting spirit that we have displayed.
“We’ve showed plenty of attacking intent and also put our bodies on the line when required to secure six deserved points.
“We rode our luck at times on Tuesday, but we were able to get the job done.
“We’ve had a settled squad recently and we’re trying our hardest to keep it together; the lads are fighting and working hard for each other, which is pleasing to see.
“Now we look to Saturday’s home game against Waltham Abbey. They arrive here in third place in the table, so it will be a tough test, one that we will need to rise to.
“Hopefully we can keep doing what we’ve been doing.”
